How the piece is photographed

Control begins with the material.

Polished gold, brushed silver, gemstone clusters and matte surfaces do not respond to the same light. Each setup is built around the piece: diffusion, flags, reflected gradients and small changes in angle determine where the object glows and where it keeps its structure.

Product-only frames require exact edges and repeatable consistency. Jewellery-on-skin adds gesture, body, shadow and scale. The result still needs to preserve gemstone colour, metal temperature and surface character across campaign, editorial and brand use.

What the image must hold

01
Reflection control
Highlights describe volume without flattening polished metal or losing edge definition.
02
Material temperature
Gold, silver, stones and mixed finishes remain credible rather than drifting into a generic colour grade.
03
Skin and scale
On-figure imagery keeps the piece legible while gesture and body give it proportion and tension.

Questions from brands and agencies

Planning a jewellery commission

What does a jewellery and object shoot include?

A shoot can cover product-only stills, macro details, jewellery-on-skin imagery and campaign key visuals. The scope is built from the collection, required crops, usage, retouching and rollout. For wider briefs, photographer-led production can also coordinate models, styling, set elements and post-production.

Product-only or jewellery-on-skin?

Product-only imagery gives the piece maximum clarity and is useful for catalogues, launches and brand presentations. Jewellery-on-skin adds proportion, gesture and emotional context. Many collections need both: controlled product frames for consistency and a smaller on-figure set for campaign, editorial and social use.

How are gemstone colour and metal temperature handled?

Lighting, exposure and colour are evaluated piece by piece. Reflections are shaped with diffusion, flags and controlled gradients; colour-managed capture and retouching keep gemstone tone and metal temperature credible. The aim is accuracy with structure, not a neutral file that removes the character of the material.

Can collections be shipped from abroad?

Collections can be sent to Berlin or Istanbul by arrangement. Shipping method, insurance, customs documents, inventory checks, handling and the return route are agreed before dispatch. For high-value or one-off pieces, hand-carry or a supervised production route can be planned when appropriate.
